Perge, Aspendos, Side and Manavgat Tour

Our tour of the region will start in the ruins of the ancient city of Perge. The city retains impressive architecture from its ancient inhabitants, the latest of which were Romans. The Great Theatre and the stadium are fine examples of Roman work, and here, you will get a glimpse of what entertainment was in the Hellenistic period. The city also has massive Roman gate-towers, which are quite an unusual sight.

Explore the ruins as you walk on the remnants of an impressive colonnaded street and check out the agora, nymphaeum, and a well-preserved Roman bath. The city also has multiple temples and 5th and 6th-century churches. On a nearby Hilltop is the acropolis from where you will get a panoramic view of the ruins.

The next stop is another remarkable ancient city, Aspendos. This city is home to one of the most magnificent architecture pieces from the Roman Empire, the Theatre at Aspendos. This theatre, which was completed in the 2nd century AD, could fit an audience of up to 20,000 people. It is pretty much in good condition; hence you can admire the detail with which the Romans built this magnificent structure.

The breathtaking theatre may be the highlight of the visit, but Aspendos still has a few other attractions. There is an acropolis hill, an agora, a nymphaeum, and an ancient aqueduct’s magnificent remains. As you explore this once beautiful city, our guide will narrate a bit of the city’s glorious history.

Our next stop, Side, will be a bit different. Side is a mix of the past and present, blending ruins of the ancient city of Side with a modern resort town. This unique blend of narrow streets, lovely gardens, white sand beaches, and impressive Greco-Roman ruins make the town a beautiful destination.

Explore Side for a taste of Hellenistic and Roman architecture, including Side nymphaeum, city walls, a monumental gate, Apollo temple, Side Theater, and many more. Although the theatre here is not as well preserved as the one in Aspendos, it is still an incredible sight.

Our tour of the region will conclude with a visit to one of the most breathtaking sights nature has to offer, Manavgat waterfall. The waterfall may not have a grand height, but it creates a beautiful scenery as it falls with a roar. Treat yourself to a view of one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the country as a cool spray of water splashes to your face.
