Itinerary Details

Day 1Bodrum

Our epic Aegean adventure starts at Bodrum city, of which port has served many a voyage beginning, passing through, or ending in the region. Your yacht will be waiting at the port, where you will check in and have the rest of the day to tour Bodrum.

The town’s bay boasts sandy whitewashed beaches that make for an incredible relaxation spot with stunning views of the sea. Swim in the turquoise waters before heading out to explore the historic town that is Bodrum. Walk along its beautiful streets lined with adorable whitewashed houses and grab a delicious meal at one of the town’s local restaurants.

Head over to the 15th century Bodrum Castle, a magnificent architectural feat of four countries. Other historical attractions in the ancient city include the Bodrum Museum of Underwater Archaeology, the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, the stunning theatre of Halicarnassus, the Maritime Museum, Zeki Muren Arts Museum, and a lot more.

The town is also famed for its vibrant nightlife, which you can experience at one of the bars or clubs in Bodrum. From here, return to the yacht for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2Nisyros Island

After breakfast, sail across to Greek for Nisyros, our first Dodecanese stop sitting at the heart of the Aegean. This beautiful island stands untouched by mass tourism and makes an excellent peaceful retreat with a relaxed feel.

It is home to stunning natural attractions and picturesque little villages with traditional architecture and a friendly population. While here, visit the famous Nisyros volcano, the youngest volcano in Greece. The volcano is still active and is a beautiful location to hike and explore but first, enjoy the island’s clean and peaceful beaches.

The center of activity on the island is Mandraki village, where you can experience its rich cultural heritage and history. Another idyllic town to stroll around and enjoy terrific views is Nika. Enjoy local cuisines and mingle with the locals before returning to your yacht.

Day 3Symi Island

Symi Island is another stunning Dodecanese gem to spend a day in. This tiny island is one of the most romantic of the cluster, setting itself apart with gorgeous architecture and colored houses that create a charmingly laid-back atmosphere.

As you sail towards the island, it is impossible not to notice its port. The romantic port is decorated with colorful mansions that ooze incredible charm even from afar. Once the yacht drops anchor, you’ll have more than enough to explore the beautiful port before continuing to the island’s stunning beaches and mesmerizing waters.

The beaches are small and clean, with most being secluded. Thus, you will have a lot of places to relax and enjoy quiet swimming and basking sessions. From the beaches, explore the town and discover its traditional cafes, shops, and taverns for the rest of the day.

In the evening, return to the port for a beautiful view of the sunset and a delicious onboard dinner.

Day 4Rhodes

The fourth day of the cruise leads us to the historic Rhodes Island (Knight’s island), where a visit to the old town takes you back to when Rhodes was the most important of the Dodecanese islands. Walk the stone-paved alleys surrounded by elegant mansions and strong walls that create an age-of-the-knights aura. A giant bronze statue of Helios once stood on this island, signifying its historical importance to the region.

Rhodes also has spectacular scenery decorated by large amounts of pine and cypress trees on the island. When not enjoying this, head over to one of its beautiful beaches for excellent water sports and swimming sessions. You can also go hiking or stay in town and enjoy a variety of sumptuous local dishes.

Day 5Kargi Bay - Datca

From Rhodes, sail back into Turkey to the stunning Kargi Bay in the Gulf of Gokova. It forms the perfect place to anchor, and its visitors enjoy a relaxing blend of the sea and nature at its best. Unwind in the bay as you swim in its clear waters before sailing for Datca Harbor.

The harbor is home to an idyllic town with lovely streets, charming houses, and stunning beaches hidden away in magnificent coves. Spend your time in the beautiful retreat, swimming in its turquoise waters and relaxing on the whitewashed beaches of Datca. Visit one of the waterside restaurants and enjoy mouthwatering delicacies with the azure sea laid out in front of you, or explore the region on horseback.

You can also trek to the beautiful Old Town (Eski Datca), with its narrow streets lined with pretty gardens and adorable stone houses.

After a day of exploration and activity, return on board for dinner.

Day 6Palamutbuku - Knidos

Still, within the Datca peninsula, we continue to Palamutbuku Bay. There is a small settlement on the bay, but it’s the beautiful beaches that steal the show. Swimming in the azure sea is an excellent way to relax and pass the time as you enjoy the breathtaking surrounding mountains dotted with beautiful gardens.

From the bay, sail to the ancient city of Knidos at the border of the Aegean and Mediterranean. Dating back to the 13th century BCE, this important historic site is home to stunning ruins from antiquity. Here, explore the Temple of Aphrodite, The Terrace of Dionysus, and a small theatre for the rest of the day. In the evening, enjoy breathtaking views of the sunset before returning to your yacht for a delicious dinner.

Day 7Kara Ada - Meteor Bay

Sail for Kara Ada (Black Island) for a relaxing and therapeutic session in hot springs and mud baths. This unspoiled island has incredible natural beauty with clear waters for swimming and snorkeling. Afterward, head over to Meteor Bay and enjoy the turquoise sea during swimming and water sports sessions.

Day 8Bodrum

Sail for Bodrum, where you will check out and say goodbye to the yacht and crew. Then, enjoy a private transfer to the airport or finalize your following Turkish adventure plans.

FAQs

Will I book my own domestic flights?

We prefer to book domestic air tickets to have better control over connections and embarkation & disembarkation times. However, if you choose to book on your own, please let us know to suggest the best possible options.

Can we arrange land tours before and after the gulet?

Exactly! And that is the best way to enjoy the closeby sites once you are there as Turkey offers numerous experiences to enjoy.

How much does it cost to cruise from Bodrum to South Dodecanese in a week?

Yacht rental fee: Avg. an ok gulet starts from 18,000+ EUR total, including all meals for a couple or a family of four. However, once you select this route and advise the travel dates, we will check the availability of different gulets (ranging up to 180,000 EUR total for a week for the most luxurious options) and send you all the detailed info on these available yachts.

Article 136 & port tax: according to the new regulation voted on Nov. 23, 2017, starting the cruise on a Greek island with Turkish or other flagged gulets that are not under a Greek charter license is not allowed. Instead, it is allowed to embark the gulet at any Turkish ports (Bodrum, Marmaris, Gocek, etc.) and sail to Greek islands, but finally, return to a Turkish port. Thus, the daily port tax might be more than 2000 EUR just on the Greece side.

Beverages: while you can bring your favorites, we will send you a shopping list for drinks as well. The crew will do the shopping on your behalf and hand you the supermarket receipt on arrival. The idea is all about the time of cooling it all and getting your cold drinks ready before arrival.

Watersports & Equipment: Flippers, snorkels, fishing tackle, cards, and board games available onboard. Some gulets even come with kayaks, or Ringo, too. However, if you would like to enjoy one of the days with more watersports such as jet-skis, bananas, etc., it is also available at an extra charge.

Tipping: the best judgment is always all yours, and we do recommend %7 to %10 of the total yacht rental fee.

What else we need to know?

Availability: gulets are chartered Saturday – Saturday, and if your travel calendar doesn’t match, we will still plan the best possible options.

Route: the recommended itinerary above is just a sample, and depending on the weather conditions or crowds, the captain will pick different alternatives. Again, once you are on board, you can discuss and ask for other reasonable options for sure.
