Due to ongoing restoration, going inside the monastery is prohibited. Nonetheless, the unique location and architecture of the monastery and the resulting scenery will be breathtaking enough.
After we conclude our visit to the Medieval Greek monks high up the cliffs, we will go to a local restaurant for lunch. Here you will have a taste of the famous Akcaabat Meatballs. Treat yourself to tasty regional flavors before our tour of this magnificent city resumes.

The Hagia Sophia museum, built in the 13th century AD, is widely regarded as one of Byzantine architecture’s finest remnants. The museum’s architecture and use by first Christians and later on, Muslims make it one of Trabzon’s unique structures. As part of your museum tour, you can view the artifacts from the region’s history as you learn more about the building.
Whereas historical architecture is the main attraction in Trabzon, it is not the only attraction. Boztepe hill towers over the city with a beautiful park up top. We will have a tour of the hilltop from where you will get a breathtaking view of the city’s bright colors. The hill also has four beautiful fountains due to its religious significance in the region.
You take as many photos of the view as you can.
After treating your eyes to a marvelous view of Trabzon, we will then head to our final destination of the day, Sera Lake. This unusual lake formed when rock debris from the region dammed and created a beautiful lake that now treats visitors with a fantastic view.
