Taking a blue cruise from Marmaris to Datca gives the slow-paced vacation desired after a year of hard work or studies. As you spend hours on the calm blue sea, uncover the stunning natural environment of the Mediterranean and learn its history in the incredible ancient attractions along the way. Enjoy visiting the port towns, and seaside villages experience Turkish coastal tastes and preferences in the numerous restaurants, bars, cafes, and shopping centers.
Arrive and check in for your voyage at the bay in Marmaris. It is a beautiful coastal town with a friendly population and stunning coastline bustling with activity.
Before your cruise begins, you will have some leisure time, and there is plenty to do in Marmaris. Visit its Marina and admire impressive yachts as you dine in one of the many waterfront restaurants in the area. The famous Marmaris Bar Street also has a vibrant atmosphere ideal for evening drinking in a coastal town.
The beaches of Marmaris are clean, with stunning views of the azure sea. After spending some time on a beach, visit the incredible Marmaris Castle high up in the old town. Speaking of the town, there are lovely shopping options for tourists at the local market in the area.
After a day of exploration and fun, return to the yacht for dinner.
The second day takes us to the gorgeous beach resort of Turunc. It is nestled in a beautiful bay on Marmaris’ southern coast and was once a calm and relaxed fishing village. Today, the town accommodates many holidaymakers seeking a taste of the blue coast. Still, it retains the charming atmosphere of a small fishing village, making it a must-see destination for anyone sailing nearby.
Enjoy a splendid view of the village with a stunning backdrop of pine-covered hills from the sea. Once you disembark, spend time on its superb, ecologically sound beach with a magnificent view of the blue sea. You can also explore the entire village in about an hour and a half while taking advantage of the numerous dining experiences along the way.
For some time away from crowds, the hills behind the town make for a refreshing hiking experience. The tops of the hills offer spectacular scenery of the beautiful coastline and the peaceful village below. After a day enjoying the laid-back atmosphere of Turunc, return on board for dinner.
After breakfast, late morning, sail to Arap Island and anchor at the nearby bay. Enjoy some time exploring the uninhabited islet as you savor its unique rural feel. Unfortunately, Arap island doesn’t have much to offer except for its privacy and peaceful atmosphere, so you’ll only spend a short time here before heading for Bozukkale.
Bozukkale has a large bay and is a favored stop for yachts cruising from Marmaris to Datca. Its natural environment is stunning and ideal for a walk, while the bay’s waters are excellent for swimming, canoeing, and surfing. It also has some beautiful coves that will be worth your while.
When not in the great waters, you can explore the magnificent ruins of a fortress sitting on the peninsula’s southern tip. The castle was built around 700 BCE and formed a formidable navy base to thwart any enemy threats in the natural harbor.
After enjoying the here-and-now atmosphere of Bozukkale, return to your yacht for a night’s stay.
Today’s cruise will take you to the Datca Peninsula, a seaside town with incredible laid-back authenticity. First, relax in the stunning beaches or swim, dive, and snorkel in the magnificent coves surrounding the peninsula.
Exploring Datca town is another excellent way to spend time in the peninsula. It’s a relatively pretty and chilled town, with great food and lovely streets that will keep your feet occupied for a while. Along the beach is a string of waterside restaurants where you can enjoy mouthwatering delicacies with the azure sea laid out in front of you.
If your explorer spirit still wants more, you can take an hour-long walk to the Old Town (Eski Datca). The village has narrow alleyways with pretty gardens and idyllic stone houses, giving it an incredible traditional feel. As you explore this stony maze and enjoy its bougainvillea-clad walls, don’t forget to take a couple of photos as it is exceptionally photogenic.
Horse riding through the forest or along the beaches is another popular activity in the region. Then, after a day of fun, return on board for dinner and a night’s stay.
After breakfast, the blue cruise continues to Aktur, an excellent location nestled between two tiny beaches. Spend your time swimming in the turquoise blue waters and basking in its white sandy beaches with stunning views of the gorgeous, brilliant blue and green hues of the sea. Here, the bay is also suitable for thrilling water sports like surfing and canoeing.
From here, proceed to the breathtaking Bencik Bay. The gorgeous bay is surrounded by steep hills covered in evergreen forests that make for a spectacular view. The waters are calm and clear, perfect for a relaxing session of swimming, snorkeling, and water sports. Charming villages shaded by olive groves decorate its gorgeous beach, and the winds here are not strong, making the bay an ideal stop for vessels.
After exploring the idyllic villages of Bencik Bay, return to the yacht for a delicious dinner.
In the morning, proceed to the beautiful Selimiye village, which boasts a stunning natural environment. Take your time to enjoy the lovely grassed area and pine-enclosed bays of the idyllic town as you explore this incredible location. When not relaxing on one of its peaceful little beaches, you can visit one of its family-run restaurants for a delicious local meal overlooking the bay of crystal-clear waters.
Your blue cruise proceeds to Orhaniye, a small seaside village with several settlements from the town. Compared to the unspoiled bliss that is Selimiye, Orhaniye offers little, but its stunning bay and natural environment make it a worthwhile location to visit. One of its top attractions is the shallow sand path in the sea, where many tourists love walking.
Sail to the seaside village of Bozburun, which builds some of the finest traditional gulets in Turkey. You can explore the town and visit local boatyards to see how the vessels are made. From here, head to Dirsekbuku for a swim in its turquoise waters and some seafood experience in its fabulous restaurants.
Your yacht will then take you to Marmaris, the final stop of your journey. Embark on more exploration of this beautiful town and return to your yacht for the night.
Say goodbye to the crew and disembark in Marmaris. Then, enjoy a private transfer to the airport or continue your adventure with another trip.
We prefer to book domestic air tickets to have better control over connections and embarkation & disembarkation times. However, if you choose to book on your own, please let us know to suggest the best possible options.
Exactly! And that is the best way to enjoy the closeby sites once you are there as Turkey offers numerous experiences to enjoy.
Yacht rental fee: Avg. an ok gulet starts from 9000+ EUR total, including all meals for a couple or a family of four. However, once you select this route and advise the travel dates, we will check the availability of different gulets (ranging up to 180,000 EUR total for a week for the most luxurious options) and send you all the detailed info on these available yachts.
Beverages: while you can bring your favorites, we will send you a shopping list for drinks as well. The crew will do the shopping on your behalf and hand you the supermarket receipt on arrival. The idea is all about the time of cooling it all and getting your cold drinks ready before arrival.
Watersports & Equipment: Flippers, snorkels, fishing tackle, cards, and board games available onboard. Some gulets even come with kayaks, or Ringo, too. However, if you would like to enjoy one of the days with more watersports such as jet-skis, bananas, etc., it is also available at an extra charge.
Tipping: the best judgment is always all yours, and we do recommend %7 to %10 of the total yacht rental fee.
Availability: gulets are chartered Saturday – Saturday, and if your travel calendar doesn’t match, we will still plan the best possible options.
Route: the recommended itinerary above is just a sample, and depending on the weather conditions or crowds, the captain will pick different alternatives. Again, once you are on board, you can discuss and ask for other reasonable options for sure.
